About the Author

Petar II Petrovic Njegos (1813 - 1851) bio je istaknuti pesnik, duhovni i svetovni vladar Crne Gore. Skolovao se u Cetinskom manastiru kod strica, vladike Petra I, koji ga je 1827. proglasio za svog naslednika. Zamonasio se posle striceve smrti, 1831. godine, i primio upravu nad Crnom Gorom. U vladiku je promovisan 1833. godine u Petrogradu. Preminuo je od tuberkuloze 1851. godine.
