Hab 12
A Scrapyard Ship Novel (Scrapyard Ship)

Rating
Format
Paperback, 286 pages
Published
United States, 1 April 2014

"Buckle up--this is another crazy ride!" The Scrapyard Ship sci-fi "cliff-hanger" adventures continue with HAB 12, the second book in the series: Captain Jason Reynolds faces new challenges, not only on Earth but from the far side of the universe as well. The only way to stop the Craing this time will be to square off with them on their home turf. Jason's been informed that three powerful Craing warships, having similar technology as The Lilly, will soon be en route to Earth. The Alliance must destroy the Craing's wormhole means of distant space travel to avert Earth's total annihilation. Unfortunately, there's no way to reach the Craing worlds in time, at least not through conventional means. It's up to Jason and his hand-picked assault team to traverse, by advanced phase-shifting means, through the hazardous environment of HAB 12. This is an adventure fraught with carnivores of a Jurassic Age magnitude, and terrain so deadly that turning back may be their only hope of survival. Note from the author: Don't be surprised by cliff-hanger endings. I'll do my best to keep the Scrapyard Ship series books coming so you won't have long to wait for the next book. Enjoy!

Reviews:

Action Packed Military Scifi!
Really enjoyed the evolution of the story and its characters. A whole new adventure across the universe with a military sci-fi thriller packed conclusion and invitation to continue following the series. Excellent read.- Jet Mech

Good Old Fashioned Si Fy.
I've been looking for fun Si Fy reads for my Kindle. McGinnis' Scrapyard Ship series is just that kind of book. Lots of tech, good action and adventure, space battles, mild romance, aliens, not too much destruction of physics as we know it, some really clever stuff such as doors that appear out of solid walls and a zoo that spans the universe, and not too much serious introspection, philosophizing and other mental gymnastics that really slow down the read.- Myles Marcovitch

A new John Carter
My grandfather read the original John Carter books. I recently read them and was surprised at how well they withstood the test of time. Mark Wayne McGinnis' books from the Scrapyard Spaceship series promise to uphold Edgar Rice Burroughs' tradition of fast-paced, quick-reading fun entertaining science fiction space opera books. Well-written, they don't get bogged down in details and the author carefully plans a way out for his crew...or does he? Either way, it's a hell of a ride. Give this a shot, you won't be sorry...only buy the first one first. Now I can't wait for the next book!- Cora Huffman

Great read!
I loved the initial book of the Scrapyard Ship series and was excited when the second book of the series came out. I'm happy to report that Mr. McGinnis has exceeded my expectations. The second book is even better than the first - the characters continue to mature and the plot and imagination of this fast-paced space opera military SciFi are thrilling. Highly recommend both books and I await eagerly the next book of this series!- Todd B Kersh

Great Golden Age style Science Fiction
I started with the first in the series and enjoyed it so much I bought numbers 2 and 3. I am not a big fan of the cliffhanger endings but that is because I hate having to wait for the next book in the series. I borrowed the first book but will probably buy it both to support end encourage the author and second to be sure I have the full set. Happily, he produces these in a reasonable time so I am not left hanging too long.- mchipguru

Very Interesting Reading --- Had Good Space Opera Storyline
This follow-up book continues the interesting storyline and allows the characters to grow as well as letting the reader understand their struggles. One problem is cleared, up and another is immediately on the horizon. I hope more comes from this Author.- Linda K Cleveland
