The Parent's Guide to Girl's Fastpitch Softball
Preparing Your Child for a College Scholarship

Rating
Format
Paperback, 192 pages
Published
United States, 1 August 2014

The book is a guide for parents of female softball players. The book provides an easy-to-read format for preparing an athlete to successfully compete for college scholarships. The author analyzes the variables in preparing children mentally, physically and socially. These variables are then juxtaposed against the needs of the college coach. The book utilizes the concept of the "Division 1 NCAA a.k.a. D-1 player" in creating a paradigm from which a parent may begin to analyze their child in their formative years. The book uses case studies. It raises controversial issues that plague the "fast-pitch" softball world and the impact these have on a student's contention for an athletic scholarship. The book attempts to raise the standard in parental responsibility beyond the "politically correct" world.

About the Author

Antonio R. Longoria Jr. was born in San Antonio Texas. His work with inner city, at-risk and needy kids began almost immediately after entering St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Having overcome a poor, rural family background bestows Coach T with a unique platform for reaching out to impoverished kids. His training in law enforcement, graduate work and experience in public education makes him a unique counselor to thousands of troubled kids. An accomplished motivational speaker, baseball/softball coach and award winning youth program developer, Coach T has spent a lifetime guiding young people. He has worked for organizations such as the YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, public schools and numerous police programs. He served as "faculty" and coach at the college and high school levels. Similarly, being an accomplished "windmill pitcher" affords Coach T with a unique platform from which to scout scholarship quality softball players. With over 130 NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, and NCCAA softball scholarship players to come out of his non-profit programs Coach T can guide your child to a new level of mental health and superior athletic performance!
