Predestination

Rating
Format
Paperback, 98 pages

United States, 1 December 2013

A concise, plain language treatment of the Biblical accuracy of the Calvinistic doctrine of predestination. Predestination: TBTS delves far beyond the 'normal' verses used by Calvinism to support the belief that God chose individuals for salvation before we were even created, and expands the scope of the study to include Scripture that might otherwise seem completely unrelated. The book does not seek to disprove the doctrine of predestination, but instead, uses a wealth of Scripture to clarify what has been one of the most hotly debated topics in Christianity for hundreds of years. This being that, according to Calvinism, predestination is extended by God to man, and that all anyone can ever do to be saved is to hope that they are 'chosen' by God. Predestination: TBTS, however, shows how Scripture clearly reveals that this teaching is in error, and that the totality of the Scriptures themselves reveal a completely different take on this doctrine. This take is neither new, nor is it earth-shattering, it is simply what the Bible has been saying for two centuries concerning the doctrine of predestination. Namely, that predestination is solely, and exclusively the possession of Jesus Christ, and that the only way any person can ever claim to be predestined, chosen, or elect is through Christ, and Him alone. While some within Calvinism might not dispute this claim, its (Calvinism's) teaching of the doctrine wrongly attributes this choosing of individuals before time began to God the Father, which is directly disputed by this work. What Predestination: TBTS shows is that, instead, God the Father chose, or predestined, His Son, Jesus Christ, alone, and that His (Jesus Christ's) predestination is available to any, and all, who will only believe in Him.

About the Author

Joseph Davidson has been actively involved in Christian ministry as a minister of the gospel for the last 25 years. He has been married to his wife, Sonja, for the last 24 years, and they have been blessed with two daughters, Rebekah and Makenna. Joseph has recently founded davidsonministries as an avenue to take the gospel into areas which might not otherwise be reached. He also serves as the Student Pastor to a vibrant church in his home state of Georgia. Davidson's primary interests are his family, his church, and his ministry. He also enjoys reading a range of topics that are somewhat eclectic, as evidenced by his educational background. He holds a B.A. in Geology, an M.P.A., and a Masters of Divinity. He enjoys the study of science, history, and of course the Bible. Davidson is currently at work on the next book in The Biblical Truth Series that will focus on the creation account as told in Genesis. He anticipates an early 2014 release for that work.
