Lani writes books in between the chaos of raising five children. As a child, she was entranced by the Narnia series and kept looking in wardrobes everywhere, hoping to find a doorway to another world of fantasy and adventure. She never found it so she became an author instead. Her TELESA series is a neverending source of embarassment for her teenagers because all their friends are reading it and loving the fiery romance. (Apparently it is uncool to have a mother who can invent feisty heroines and deliciously hot male leads.) She also writes about life as a (slightly demented) Domestic Goddess at her blog: Sleepless in Samoa.
