About the Author

Poet and playwright Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) remains best known for his comedies of the 1890s, including The Importance of Being Earnest, and for his tragic imprisonment and untimely death.
Bob Blaisdell is a Professor of English at the City University of New York's Kingsborough College and the editor of many Dover Thrift Editions and other books, including the forthcoming New York: The Big Apple Quote Book.
