Defence lawyer Suzanne St Laurent (Genevieve Bujold) comes home to find her maid murdered and her daughter missing. Attempting to phone the police she is informed by a cool voice to stop the call and look around the room. Suzanne discovers that her every move is being monitored by video cameras all over her apartment. But who has put her under surveillance, and why?
