Best friends Enid (Thora Birch) and Rebecca (Scarlett Johansson) are two ultra-hip teenagers who are out of synch with the world around them. After graduating his school, Rebecca gets a menial job at a coffee shop while Enid wallows in her miserable worldview - where all jobs are sellouts and nearly all people are losers. But when Enid befriends offbeat Seymour (Steve Buscemi), a loner who lives only for his collection of old records, her life takes a weird turn as she realises she needs him in ways she never thought possible. Based on the popular comic book series, Ghost World gives a satirical, edgy glimpse into those awkward days just after high school graduation when adult responsibility is looming large and friendships are changed forever!

Synopsis

Deliciously dry and quirky, director Terry Zwigoff's Ghost World, based on the cult comic book by Daniel Clowes, is like no other teen comedy you've ever seen before. Original, terrifically funny, sharp and bitchy, Ghost World follows Enid (Thora Birch) and Rebecca (Scarlett Johansson), two teenage girls who have always been too cool to bother with the losers in their High School.

this is a really cool and edgy flick about two girls who are not like their peers. some crazy things get up to in this movie, which is based on a comic strip. stars scarlett johanssen, and it is nice to see her breaking the molud and doing something a bit different. get this out if you dont want something ordinary

Ghost world I didn’t really like this movie. I just couldn’t get into it. I thought that the acting was poor and it could have been better and that the storyline lacked. There is so much that they could have done with this movie but they just didn’t. I watched the whole thing but it just didn’t get any better. One out of five stars.

Ghost World is an instant classic, droll and eccentric and sharply incisive. The main character is the oddball teenager Enid who wanders around sketching and kind of interacting with other even odder people. Ghost World's charm lies in its subtle rhythms and the interaction between the characters who are strangely endearing in their oddness.
