Nothing seems to get to the heart of what love is and what it can do to a life than a good country song, where beers flow, tears flow, and Saturday night brings the illusion of everything swept clean. This set features country legends like Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Patsy Cline, Conway Twitty, and Kitty Wells delivering country love songs. Then there's a Jerry Lee Lewis version of "Jambalaya" here, a song that is only marginally a love song, if it is at all, and Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues," which is likewise not a love song, although there's certainly emotional yearning in it. Both are fun to hear, but they break the otherwise romantic and thematic flow of this playlist. ~ Steve Leggett
